Zhung Dratshang, also known as the Central Monastic Body of Bhutan, is the central institution responsible for preserving, practicing, and promoting the Buddhist spiritual and cultural traditions of the country. Rooted in Bhutan’s Drukpa Kagyu heritage, it plays an important role in maintaining religious teachings, sacred rituals, monastic discipline, and Bhutan’s living Buddhist heritage.
The Zhung Dratshang (Central Monastic Body) is one of the oldest and most enduring religious institutions of Bhutan.
